Chuck has 30 years of forestry experience, combining a comprehensive background in practical forestry applications with a specialization in Geographic Information Systems (GIS). He has worked in both government and industry capacities in a broad range of forestry activities including forest management planning, silviculture, forest inventory and wood measurement, forest fire response and corporate GIS development and database management. His technical and practical knowledge of forestry has extended to provide services to the mining sector; including claim staking, line cutting, VLF and magnetometer surveys and drill preparation.
Serving several industry and government clients across Northern Ontario, Chuck and his seven technical specialists provide all necessary GIS digital database and information products associated with forest management planning, annual work scheduling, annual reporting and audits. He has been the lead GIS analyst for numerous forest management plans and brings a high level of knowledge and expertise to the GFMI team, which is reflected in the fact that he is a member of the Provincial Joint Information Technical Committee. Chuck also ensures that specialized GIS information products are prepared as needed to support field operations, public information sessions or for other client requests. Chuck’s other accomplishments include being a licensed scaler in Ontario, holding an Initial Attack Fire Boss Certificate and Prospectors Licence in Ontario.
